Residents in Lakelands, Madora Bay and surrounds will have a new travel option to choose from with the newest station on the Mandurah Line being built in Lakelands.

The addition of Lakelands Station on the Mandurah Line will reduce the need for residents in the southern suburbs to travel significant distances to access train services. Lakelands Station will be located between Warnbro and Mandurah stations, which are 23 kilometres apart.

The Public Transport Authority as part of METRONET is establishing a Community Reference Group (CRG) for the Lakelands Station project.

The Public Transport Authority as part of METRONET is establishing a Community Reference Group (CRG) for the Lakelands Station project.

The purpose of this Group is to act as a sounding board during the planning, construction and delivery phases of the new station and construction impacts. The Group will be encouraged to bring feedback and collect community enquiries for discussion in the meetings to identify issues.

Applications are now open for residents and local businesses who are interested in joining the Group. Applications close 11:59pm on August 30, 2020.

Successful and non successful applicants will be notified mid-September.

    Residents and local businesses within the project area are encouraged to apply by 11.59pm Sunday, 30 August. 

    The purpose of the CRG is to provide local insights and feedback and to act as a sounding board during the planning, construction and delivery phases of the new station and construction impacts.
