WA's south-west freight rail currently runs through Mundijong, separating sections of the town. Recognising the need to realign the line to the developing West Mundijong Industrial Area, we are carrying out a planning study to identify the future transport corridor, to improve safety and amenity in the Mundijong Town Centre.

Determining a preferred rail corridor will ultimately enable a rail reserve to be set aside in the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) and provide certainty for the community and adjacent property owners about the freight railway’s future location.

An online community information session was held on 27 April, where feedback and results from community engagement in late-2021, and technical analysis were presented.

The outcome identified two shortlisted options:

Option 0

Option 3

Outcomes of the survey will be communicated in late May.
