Have Your Say - Transperth

We're seeking community feedback on proposed changes to routes 340 and 353.

Routes 340 and 353 would merge to provide an improved service to residents in the suburbs of Brabham, Caversham and Dayton.

We are proposing to make the following changes:

  • Route 353 would undergo a route change between Dayton and Bassendean via Caversham, travelling the same way as Route 340 between Caversham and Bassendean
  • Route 340 would be withdrawn based on this change
  • Route 353 would no longer travel along Kennedia Ent and Dampiera St in Dayton to provide a more direct service
  • Route 353 would no longer travel along Altone Rd and Ivanhoe St, with Route 955 continuing to service residents in the area
  • Route 353 deviations via Kiara College would continue to run for students travelling from Brabham, Dayton and Caversham
  • Kiara College students currently travelling on Route 353 from Altone Rd will instead be able to catch School Special 749 or new deviations on routes 341 and 342.

Route 353 would operate seven days a week at the following times:

  • Every 12 minutes during weekday peak periods
  • Every 60 minutes during the day on Monday to Friday
  • Every 60 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays.

The operating hours would also improve as follows:

Dayton and Brabham

  • Earlier and later services would operate on weekdays
  • One additional service would operate on Saturday night to Bassendean

Caversham

  • Later services would operate on weekdays
  • Services would operate on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

Residents in Caversham would benefit from a vastly improved bus service including the introduction of weekend services and greater weekday peak frequency and span of operating hours.
