The Department of Transport is administering the Regional Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Taxi Service Grant (the Grant). These grants aim to contribute towards the cost of purchasing or replacing WAV taxis, and/or establishing WAV taxi services in towns where none exist.

The second round of the Grant scheme will be delivered in Northam, as demand for wheelchair accessible taxi services continues to increase in this area.

To inform this Grant round, we are conducting consultation to help us understand the experiences of people who use wheelchairs when they are travelling to and moving around Northam.

There are two ways we would like to hear from you:

1. Complete the survey below.

Share your experiences and knowledge about wheelchair accessible transport in Northam.

2. Talk to us in Northam.

Register to attend a public meeting in Northam and/or organise a one-to-one meeting with DoT representatives on Tuesday 29 November 2022 to discuss Northam’s wheelchair accessible transport and Grant opportunities in closer detail, informed by the survey feedback.

Your input will help us shape the Northam round of the Regional WAV Taxi Service Grant, and inform how the Grants are rolled out to other regions in WA.
