The Department of Transport is administering the Regional Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) Taxi Service Grant (the Grant). These grants aim to contribute towards the cost of purchasing or replacing WAV taxis, and/or establishing WAV taxi services in towns where none exist.

The next round of the Grant scheme will be delivered in Margaret River.

To inform this Grant round, we are conducting consultation to help us understand the experiences of people who use wheelchairs when they are traveling to and moving around Margaret River.

The Department of Transport will be visiting Margaret River in May 2023. You’re invited to attend:

  • a public meeting in Margaret River with representatives from DoT on Monday 22 May 2023; and/or
  • organise a one-to-one meeting with representatives from DoT on Monday 22 May 2023 and Tuesday 23 May 2023.

There are two ways we would like to hear from you:

Share your experiences and knowledge about wheelchair accessible transport in Margaret River.

2. Talk to us in Margaret River.

Discuss Margaret River's wheelchair accessible transport and Grant opportunities in closer detail, informed by the survey feedback.

Register to attend:

  • a public meeting in Margaret River with representatives from DoT on Monday 22 May 2023; and/or
  • organise a one-to-one meeting with representatives from DoT on Monday 22 May 2023 and Tuesday 23 May 2023.

Your input will help us shape the Margaret River round of the Regional WAV Taxi Service Grant, and inform how the Grants are rolled out to other regions in WA.
