The METRONET Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project is Perth’s first major elevated rail project designed to improve public transport safety, create new and versatile public space for the community and reduce traffic congestion.

Six level crossings will be removed along the Armadale Line by raising the rail over the road at Mint Street, Oats Street, Welshpool Road, Hamilton Street, Wharf Street and William Street. New modern elevated stations will be built at Carlisle, Oats Street, Queens Park, Cannington and Beckenham stations. Welshpool Station will close.

Around the stations, public space will be created for community members to enjoy with friends, family and neighbours. With the help of the community and stakeholders, we've developed designs for public spaces around Carlisle, Oats Street, Queens Park and Cannington stations.
