Main Roads is planning for the future of Orrong Road from Great Eastern Highway to just east of Leach Highway. This stretch of road is currently operating at capacity, and since September 2024 we’ve been engaging our community and key stakeholders to shape the next phase of planning, to ensure a safer, smoother and more connected journey for everyone.

We thank everyone who has taken part to date. The level of interest in the planning study has been very encouraging and we look forward to sharing updates with you as things progress.

What's next ?

Since November 2024, a community deliberative panel has met four times to consider the challenges and opportunities and provide a vision for Orrong Road.

Panel members were given a clear remit, along with briefing materials, and taken through four full-day independently facilitated workshops. They considered the issues and explored each of the options, before providing their recommendations.
