Transperth Electric Vehicle Charger Trial

Transperth is introducing electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities to a number of car parks at train stations across our network. The chargers will be in place for a trial period and will be progressively installed at a number of stations.

The chargers are operated by Wevolt and charge at up to 7kW, taking approximately eight hours to charge a typical EV. Electric Vehicle charging bays will be marked as 'Electric Vehicles Only'. The charging fee is a usage charge of $0.43 per kWh, which covers the cost of electricity and operating the charger.

We’d like your feedback on the chargers to help us assess the viability of installing EV chargers at other stations across the wider Transperth network.

EV charging locations

EV chargers are currently available at the following stations:

Armadale Line

• Carlisle Station (4 bays)
• Oats Street Station (4 bays)
• Queens Park Station (4 bays)
• Cannington Station (4 bays)
• Beckenham Station (4 bays)
• Armadale Station (4 bays)
• Byford Station (4 bays).

Ellenbrook Line

• Ellenbrook Station (10 bays)
• Whiteman Park Station (10 bays)
• Ballajura Station (10 bays)
• Noranda Station (10 bays)
• Morley Station (10 bays).

Midland Line

• Bayswater Station (4 bays).

Thornlie-Cockburn Line

• Thornlie Station (10 bays)
• Nicholson Road Station (10 bays)
• Ranford Road Station (10 bays).

Yanchep Line

• Yanchep Station (10 bays)
• Alkimos Station (10 bays)
• Eglinton Station (10 bays).

EV chargers will be installed at the following station in future.

Mandurah Line

• Mandurah Station (10 bays).

Cost

The charging fee is a usage charge of $0.43 per kWh, which covers the cost of electricity and operating the charger. The charger is operated by Wevolt on behalf of the Public Transport Authority. All users will also need to pay the $2 SmartParker fee and use Transperth services as a standard condition of parking at a Transperth station.

Using the chargers

To use the chargers, passengers will need to supply their own cable and follow the instructions on the signage next to the EV chargers.
