The State Government’s reform of the on-demand transport industry has brought taxi and charter on-demand transport services closer together, with legislation that allows for fairer competition between the two.

The current legislated maximum fare structure is limited and the Department of Transport (DoT) is seeking to amend the maximum fares and the processes to regulate the fares.

Feedback on regulated on-demand rank or hail (taxi) fares is now closed. Thank you to those who provided feedback via our online surveys.

We are now reviewing all the feedback provided, which will help inform development of the July 2020 regulations.
